Equipment

The core of the infrastructure of the DigiCenter is a digital reproduction machine with a column stand, height adjustable support plate and an optional suction plate. The "Digi Repro Master" from the well known companies Linhof and Anagram combines the well-proven Linhof view camera M 679 cc and the extremly powerful Anagram-Scanback "Picture gate 8000 production" with a maximum resolution of 8000 x 9700 pixels, a data throughput of 750 millions pixels per minute and a colour depth of 16 bit on each channel. The multifunctional repro workstation is used for the efficient digitilisation and picturisation of originals up to A0 dimensions (841 × 1189 mm). Two large scale, flicker-free light sources provide a uniform and controlled lighting.

Online publication
Online publication

The online publication of the Graphical Collection of the Göttweig Abbey is realised by the Center for Image Science of the University for Continuing Education Krems (Austria). The project comprises both the conception and design and the technical realisation of the publication with free software. The online-databases operates on the metadata which is managed with the image-management system "ImageFinder/DocuMax" and provides access to the holdings via the internet. During the concept phase special attention was paid to the retrieval and presentation options. Regular updates of the online holdings will give successive access to the continual growth of the digitization of the collection.
